2008 Nov - International Oil Company – Graduate Immersion Programme
In November, Quest worked with a major international oil company to deliver a four day graduate immersion programme.
Graduate Immersion Programme for a Major International Oil Company
This four day programme was delivered across two locations. The first three days in London, and then on the third night the group of 19 graduates travelled to the New Forest for the final stage. In designing the programme a key objective was to engage the graduates in a stepped, progressive, and reflective learning experience which was both challenging and fun.
Some of the key objectives / programme learning outcomes for this programme were as follows:
-
To establish a positive, team focused, performance environment, allowing members of the Graduate Immersion Programme to gain greater self / team awareness and understanding and trust of one another in both a performance and personal context.
-
Encourage graduates to develop an internal support network.
-
Explore what makes a high performance team and how this is reflective of their corporate and leadership values. Recognise those values and how they are reflected in terms of professionalism and behaviour.
-
Provide key experiential competency based learning within a variety of contexts and through a range of learning styles. Exercises are to be supported by reflective learning reviews and business contextualisation sessions.
-
Deliver exercises that create and demand innovation and creativity; empower decisive and effective leadership; business planning; delivery implementation, and decision making in a range of contexts.
-
To deliver challenges that both physically and cerebrally place the graduates under a range of stressors exposing individual strengths and weaknesses, and how they react under different pressures and constraints.
-
To provide a challenging, dynamic, fun and interactive learning programme that facilitates the performance development of the graduates.
This was a highly involved programme that had the graduates facing a broad range of diverse exercises. The pictures opposite show some of the challenges they faced over the three days.
