2008 Jun - Lloyds TSB – Consumer Banking Conference

On the 3rd June, Quest ran a large conference breakout session for Lloyds TSB at the Honorable Artillery Company in London.

Team building breakout session for the Lloyds TSB Consumer Banking Conference

The weather forced Quest staff to move the team building activities inside at the last minute but this did not dampen the enthusiasm with which the three hundred odd people set about completing them.

As the air horn sounded to signify the start of the event, the main marquee erupted into life with people darting in all different directions. The next hour was pretty intense, both for the thirty six teams taking part and for the twenty strong Quest staff facilitating the event.

A series of nine different tasks had been set up around the marquee to test people’s physical, problem solving and communication skills. Teams had up to five minutes to complete each task. Running concurrently was a series of observational and memory exercises which the teams also had to complete.

Organisation was the key with teams limited by time and having a strict timetable to follow. There was a great camaraderie amongst the teams, with many people discovering just how competitive their colleagues were. The hour flew by and before you knew it the air horn sounded again to mark the end of the session.

Teams handed in their tokens and the scores were added up. It was tight at the top with just two points separating the top three teams. Looe took overall honours pushing Durham in second place, while Tunbridge Wells came third. The event was a great success and the feedback from those who took part was amazing.
