CEPA Team Development Programme

Quest worked with 29 economists from Cambridge Economic Policy Associates (CEPA) during a company offsite held at the Bath Spa Hotel. The session combined an introduction to Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) with The Bigger Picture team building exercise.

Myers Briggs Type Indicator

After an introduction to MBTI theory the delegates are taken through a self assessment process. This provides individuals with the opportunity to gain an understanding of their profiles before receiving their reported type. The reported type is obtained from online MBTI questionnaire which the delegates completed prior to  their arrival at the event.

MBTI theory identifies 4 dimensions which are divided into 8 Preferences: Extrovert & Introvert, Sensing & Intuition, Thinking & Feeling and Judging and Perceiving. The self assessment process involved several interactive exercises to help the delegates understanding of the eight preferences. This included ‘My Perfect Weekend’ poster exercise which helps distinguish the different traits of Extrovert and Introvert Preferences and the ‘Space Pod’ which examines the different behaviours of the Thinking & Feeling preference.

The Bigger Picture

The Bigger Picture requires delegates to recreate individual pieces of art that when brought together create a single Bigger Picture. To be successful teams must recognise the 'bigger picture' whilst team members are engaged with the fine detail of the specific tasks of the team exercise. The programme demands team work, planning, negotiation, effective communication as well as creativity (and potential artistic flare!).
