Microsoft have all the right ingredients

Microsoft approached Quest to source a venue to hold their team meeting and to organise some team building activities to take place at the end of the day.  The marketing team from Microsoft wanted a meeting venue that provided a relaxed and comfortable setting and something very different to the often sterile hotel meeting rooms.

We booked the delightful Stanton barn which is one of the beautiful Flagstone farm cottages which are set in the tranquillity of the Cotswold countryside.

The team building challenge was to prepare their own dinner with the ingredients provided in a ‘Ready Steady Cook’ format but on this occasion the menu had been pre-selected by the clients. In two hours the team had to cook the following four course meal.

Roasted plum tomato and olive soup Garlic and parmesan crouton

Three cheese and red onion Tartlets

Duck breast with plum, ginger and honey sauce

Chocolate pudding filled with chocolate and orange liquor ganache

The team faced several culinary challenges including boning out two mallard ducks. The team produced some beautiful food which they eagerly devoured later in the evening.

After a hearty cooked breakfast prepared for them by the Quest team they headed off back to the Reading Campus.
